Both. We'll walk the property with you, look at the grade and the light, and talk through what would work — then quote it. You don't need to bring us a plan from a designer. That said, if you already have plans drawn up, we're happy to install to them.
How much does landscaping cost in Connecticut?
It ranges enormously, because "landscaping" covers everything from re-mulching a few beds to rebuilding a whole yard with walls and plantings. That's why we price in stages — you see what each part costs and decide how far to go now versus later. The estimate itself is free and there's no obligation.
How long until the plantings fill in?
Most shrubs look established by the second or third season if they're spaced and planted properly. Anyone promising an instant mature landscape is either overplanting — which crowds itself out and needs thinning in a few years — or using oversized stock at a big premium. We'll tell you honestly what to expect from what we're quoting.
Can you fix a yard that has drainage problems?
Yes, and it's worth doing before you spend money on plantings. Water that sits against a foundation or pools in the low corner of a yard will kill whatever you put there. We handle grading and drainage as part of the landscaping work so the beds and lawn actually have a chance.
Do you do the whole property or just the front?
Whichever you want. A lot of customers start with the front because that's what people see, then come back to us a season later for the backyard. We're happy to work in stages — it spreads the cost and lets you live with the first phase before committing to the next.
Will you maintain it after it's installed?
Yes, if you'd like. Many customers have us install the landscape and then keep it on a lawn care and maintenance schedule so it stays looking the way it did the week we finished. Others prefer to handle the upkeep themselves — either is fine.
