Late March through April, once the ground has firmed up and the worst of the freeze-thaw is behind us. Going too early means working on ground you'll damage; too late and the beds are already pushing new growth you'd be cutting into. We book out quickly in spring, so calling in March is not too early.
When is the best time for a fall cleanup?
The ideal window is after most of the leaves are down but before the ground freezes — usually late October through November. Some properties with a lot of oaks or late-dropping trees need a second pass in early December, and that's normal. Leaving a thick layer of leaves over the lawn all winter is how you end up with dead patches in spring.
Do you take the leaves away or leave them?
They leave with us. Leaves piled at the curb, in the woods, or in a corner of the yard don't decompose the way people expect — they mat down, smother whatever is under them, and give you a much bigger job the following season. Everything we rake gets hauled out and disposed of properly.
What does a cleanup include besides leaves?
Brush and storm debris removal, clearing the beds, cutting back perennials at the right time, clearing roof valleys and gutters where accessible, and blowing off the walkways and driveway. If you've got a specific problem area — a corner that floods, a bed that's overgrown — point it out during the estimate and we'll price it in.
Can you clean up after a storm?
Yes. Downed limbs, broken branches and storm debris are regular calls for us, and we handle the removal and haul-away. If a tree is still standing but split or hung up in the canopy, that's a separate hazardous-removal job — we'll tell you which one you're looking at rather than sending the wrong crew.
Do I need a cleanup if I already have lawn service?
Usually yes, they're different jobs. Mowing keeps the grass cut through the season; a cleanup is the heavier work of clearing leaves, brush and debris and resetting the beds at the start and end of it. Some customers have us do both, and the cleanup gets booked as its own visit at a separate price.
